Pearl E. Schusheim

Pearl Schusheim has practiced tax law for 34 years and is a retired EY tax partner, where she lead the private client tax and investment advisory practice and the Estate and Trust Advisory Services offering. Pearl is an experienced strategic advisor to high net worth families, entrepreneurs and not-for-profit institutions. She collaborates with entrepreneurs and business families, who have complex wealth structures, to define, build and achieve planning goals. Pearl works in a ‘quarterback’ role with the family, management and outside advisors, advising on multi-generational tax, estate and succession planning issues and creating customized strategies to ensure smooth business and wealth transition.
Pearl has long-standing community involvements, sitting on the boards and committees of numerous charitable organizations for over 23 years. She obtained her ICD.D. designation in 2013. Pearl is a former editor of the Personal Tax Planning feature in the Canadian Tax Journal and has lectured and written extensively in the area of tax law. She has a BA from McGill University and both an LLB and LLM from Osgoode Hall Law School.
